In a little town outside of Canberra, Google has launched its Wing project – proving the concept of drone deliveries. You can actually order fast food and medical supplies and have them delivered direct to your home. There are regulatory and practical issues around the widespread uptake of this technology but in time these will be overcome.
Even more exciting is the development of passenger carrying drones. Again, the future is already here with some of the biggest aviation companies in the world refining working prototypes.
The infrastructure and landing pads for drones will be the biggest impediment to urban roll out.
