Working with heritage buildings can be challenging but they can also provide a marketing edge to your projects to give them an authentic character.

This 23 storey development at 405-421 Spencer St retained the old Dalston bakery building on the corner and developed an apartment building around this heritage site.

Working in conjunction with Planning and Property Partners and Plus Architecture this matter went to VCAT where the client was represented by Stuart Morris QC.

In the course of the hearing various concessions were made to the proposed treatment of the heritage building, including retention of the original ovens and chimneys and rebuilding of the roof form after the construction of the basement car parking.
